Father Son Camp

The Stirling Ranges

When: September 27-29, 2024

Location: Mt Trio Bush Camp. 4850 Salt River Road Amelup (Stirling Ranges) WA 6338

Who: Dads and Sons!

This year we are heading to the Stirling Ranges for 2 nights of camping and hiking. We have secured our own private camping area at the incredibly beautiful Mt Trio Bush Camp. This Bush Camp backs onto the Stirling Ranges with amazing views of Mt Trio and the Stirling Ranges.

Led by Ash and the team, the FS Camp is designed for dads to spend intentional time with their sons. We find that simpler is better, creating space for the spontaneous and unexpected. This is camp strips back our busy lives to the essentials necessary for building deep relationships.

What will it be like?

We will do 1 hike together - Bluff Knoll. This will require a medium level of fitness and some closed in shoes! You may want to spend sometime preparing for the camp by doing some regular walking/exercise.

Hiking with Young Kids?

If you have young kids you may wonder if the hikes are suitable for them. My Son Ollie did both hikes when he was 3 and a 1/2 years old. It was an awesome effort and an amazing moment we both shared when he got to the top of Bluff Knoll! It took some patience and creative parenting on my end, but it was a moment we will never forget.

Mt Trio Bush Camp

The owners of the property have generously given us a private section of land to use at a discounted rate. Our section of the camp site is unpowered, so while you can bring caravans, tents and swags, there will be no power available. Management of the camp will provide toilets and a fire pit just for us! There is also a fantastic camp kitchen, however it is a long away from our privater site, so please bring your own cooking gear. Check out the Mt Trio Bush Camp and all the facilities HERE

Planned activities:

  • Bluff Knoll Hike (Early Sat AM)

  • Sunday Morning Communion

This camp is open to Dads and their sons up to the age of 30. Fathers in the faith, please feel most welcome to invite your spiritual sons also! Registrations can be made on the without walls events page.
